In January 2020, we formed a project group to identify ways that we can improve our business practices, not only for us as a company but also for all of our stakeholders.

To begin with, we surveyed our team to find out what sustainability means to us as individuals. This was important to us as we want to be committed to working towards a more sustainable future together as one team. After collating the results of the survey and some extensive research, we formulated our three key pillars of sustainability:

• Social
  We will provide a safe environment for our team, clients, members and brand partners to assist in reaching their own sustainability objectives.
• Environmental
  Parliament Hill will do everything possible minimise the environmental impact for our clients, members and brand partners to ensure the future is not impacted by our actions
• Economic
  Analyse our costs to see where we can be more financially sustainable and that our investments and partnerships are aligned to meet our sustainability approach 

With these three key areas in mind, we wanted to expand the project group and educate all members of the team. We also wanted this to be more than just something we do for our team but also something to assist our clients, brand partners and most importantly members as they are at the heart of what we do.

While we recognise this is just the beginning, we are proud of the work we have done and are continuing to do in an effort to have a positive and lasting impact for the environmental future.

Parliament Hill are committed to improving our business practices to reduce the impact that we have on the environment.

Our approach is simple. We have three pillars of sustainability (social, environmental and economic) to underpin our approach across all business areas.

SOCIAL

• We support all of our staff and encourage them to work in an 'sustainable' way, whether that is in an office environment or from home.
• Each of our clients are following their own journey of sustainability, and we commit to support and complement each of their agendas.
• Our own sustainability journey will evolve, and we commit to communicate and engage with all of our stakeholders at every turn of our journey.
• We recognise that our clients' members want peace of mind in the products and services that we offer to them; we commit to provide this and also a choice across our portfolio.
• As we evolve as a business, we will continue to engage and consult with the appropriate sector organisations on the development of our own sustainability journey. 

ENVIRONMENTAL

• The working environment that we provide for staff will be safe, comfortable and inspiring. We commit to making sustainable decisions on all areas of this environment.
• We will educate and support staff in their home working environment to make sustainable decisions.
• Travel for meetings will be via public transport; where possible and appropriate we will opt for virtual meetings to minimise travel.

ECONOMIC

• We commit to working with our existing brand partners on their sustainability journey. All new brand partners will have their sustainability / green credentials considered as part of our due-diligence.
• Our sustainability journey will focus on making sustainable changes , both for the environment but also financially to ensure that they are long lasting.
• Where possible we will partner with and support appropriate external sector organisations to help them to move forward their wider sustainability agenda.

We will not rest, we commit to continually evolve and evaluate our practices as we evolve as a business.
